This episode was still fantastic, and great to see the introduction of the great Sakamoto (Minoru Shiraishi XD). The parts with the main three girls were probably not quite as good as those in the previous episodes, but really I wouldn't call it a drop in standard - we're talking about one amazing scene being slightly less amazing than other amazing scene :p. Actually it was really only the very last bit that was slightly lacklustre - and it was still very funny, but more in the usual slice of life go through all the standard jokes kind of funny. With Nichijou every week seems to offer so much originality.

Sakamoto, you so silly. |
This can't end well. Except that it's an anime and a happy-go-lucky comedy |
Three and a half twist full rotation to an inner tuck pike, toes pointed nicely, clean line, no over pronation (man I wish I understood the diving at the Olympics) |
Nice recovery |

reminds me of some other cat right in this pic... |
and it was all going so well. |
So I could relate heavily to this next sequence. Essentially, its
all about the blank. Oh how I hate you mr. blank.
SELAMAT PAGI!! Starting out with such enthusiasm...I've done this many-a-time, and you instantly know its not going to be reciprocated in the same fashion :( :p |
I'm not sure what's worse - when the blank is incoming, imminent, and the person is (not) looking right at you,... |
...or when they're at this position RIGHT HERE. So close you can almost feel them next to you, but even the deepest corners of your peripheral vision can't detect them without a significantly obvious head turn. And at this distance I swear they'll hear you turn your head. Well maybe not in this case :p |
This distance here is the exact point at which the sadness overtakes the apprehension of awkwardness |

No explanation necessary |

well I never saw this coming :p |
Everyone tries their hand at drawing in this show. I really like drawing jokes in anime/manga - it's like the whole play-within-a-play thing in Shakespeare's 'a mid summer night's dream' - they work so well because the people working on the show have experience with drawing (obviously), and they can come up with a wide range of purposely bad or oddly stylized sketches that match the characters. I have to say these drawings do remind me of Mai in a funny kind of way :)
omg this is sensational. The m makes me think of mcDonalds though. |
EYEEE OOOF THE TIIIIIIIIII-IIIIIIII-GEEEEEEEEER |
leggin' it |
you gonna' git raped. |
When you see it in the show, its hilarious. When you look at the stills after-the-fact a different feeling of warm brilliance passes over you. Yet now I also feel like a quarter pounder and I'm not exactly sure why. |
